Fushou Lou Nyonya Curry Mee @ USJ 2, Subang Jaya

It's nice when you have different parts of the area, so that she or he can recommend you to their favorite food around their neighborhood.

Rosalind was kind enough to bring me to this coffee shop at SS2, Subang Jaya once. And further to this, I am officially hooked to this style of curry mee.

The nyonya version of this curry mee sold here tasted like a mix of tom yam and curry. It has the slight tanginess taste and sourish that how usually tom yam would have, and a light taste of curry. This combined, the broth is of a perfect taste.  Not overly creamy that usually comes from coconut milk found in curry and not overly spicy.

The other reason I love this is they have the lai fun noodle, that tasted so delicious when taken with this nyonya curry broth. Yumms!

I am so addicted to this that when I do pass by Subang empty stomach, I would try to make it a point to come here for my fix.

I always come here for their standard version that comes with taufu pok, 2 pieces of chicken, long bean, bean sprout, sambal paste and mint leaves. I love this version so much that I have not attempted to have their dried noodle, or noodle with pork or seafood which are also available.
Look out for this stall
If one is not too familiar with Subang area, just pass by Summit USJ on your left, and you will be able to see Shell at the opposite direction. This coffee shop is located at the corner lot facing Shell.

Kee's Creampuff @ Subang Jaya

Having tried Kee's Creampuff since their opening, it will soon celebrate their 3rd anniversary come July '15. During this time, I have seen that they have received good media exposure, and their product extension plan seems to be going on well, where they introduced their savoury creampuffs during late September 2014.
Makes you wanna go in to have a bite or two
Using orange as its core color, one will see the vibrant color making up big signages outside, inside, wall color, and any items that represent their brand.

Inside seating
Kee's Creampuff carries 3 range of puffs, from classic creampuffs, their original taste, premium creampuffs which sees option of flavors such as blueberry, chocolate banana, cookies and cream, and in total, it has 15 flavors, which includes their specialty flavor, the durian creampuffs.

For those who isn't up to have creampuffs, they also offer cakes, tea and coffee.
Yummy tasting creampuffs and cakes on display
Kee's Creampuff has attractive set meals, which in fact is a good idea to opt for.

Options of set meals
In the past I have tried their range of classic and premium creampuffs, and I was really curious on how their savoury creampuffs taste like.

Kee's Creampuff is baked made out of choux dough mixed with mozzarella, cheddar and parmesan. To add on more elements, they infused parsley and thyme in their puff.

I took their savoury puff set, which came with choice of 2 puffs, garden salad and chips, and 1 cup of americano or tea. With RM1.50, we can upgrade to cappuccino, latte or hot chocolate.

The puff carried a slight crisp on the top part of the puff. Within the puff, they gave real generous portion of the filling.

We opted for the sour cream and chicken ham bits. This was extremely delicious, and was truly appetizing due to the sourness taste from the sour cream and the chicken bits gave a good texture to the taste bud.

The curry chicken with walnut prove to be a good combination, as the curry tasted yummy, ain't too spicy, chicken was in good size, and overall the crunchiness of walnut makes this a much recommended choice.

Savory Puff Set. Price-RM13.80

Curry chicken with Walnut (L) and Sour Cream & Chicken Ham Bits (R)
Kee's uses arabica made of Columbia beans, supplied by Hot Shots at Publika. The bean is of single origin, thus one will be able to taste how this Columbia beans taste like.

This indeed was a good cup of coffee, creamy and strong coffee flavor.

Latte which came as part of our set (normal price-RM8)
The other available set was the Creampuff Tea Set, that comes with 2 creampuffs and an americano or tea. The price of set differs by selection of the type of creampuffs, with price differs from RM9, RM10 or RM11 for choices of classic, premium or durian puffs, respectively.

We took the durian puff set which is priced at RM11 (ala carte price would have been RM5.60 for puffs + RM7 for tea = RM12.60).

Seriously, the durian creampuff was insanely yummy, filled with its pure, creamy durian pulp. Kee's Creampuff's recipe for their puff differs from those available in the market, with theirs carrying a much softer texture. The durian paste was light enough for me to not me want more, yet thick enough to satisfy my craving for durian.

Durian Puff (normal price - RM2.80 per pc)

Doesn't this make you wanna gobble down the durian puff?
The tea bag they used was of good quality, and gave blossoms smell of the calming flavor of the chamomile.

Chamomile Tea, which is part of Creampuff Tea Set (normal price - RM7)
This is indeed the right food, for someone that is looking for light food, dessert or party food.

Whisk @ Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang Jaya

Been many times to Empire Shopping, and many times wanted to have coffee at Whisk. However, it remained unsuccessful, until I was there during a weekday. Finally, some seats are available.

Side seating, that best maximize their space
Having heard much of their coffee, and macaroon, I can't wait to have my share of what they have to offer.

Well, the more impressive part for me on how well their staff know about their products, and I love to see his passion to recommend me their macaroons, and cake, and sharing knowledge about their coffee served.

The very passionate staff, Apit, despite he said he was a little shy for a photograph
Apit explained the different flavors of macaroons available, ranging from blackberry, passion fruit, chocolate, peanut butter and rose. He also explained that all the fillings are made of buttercream.
Indeed very attractive display of macaroons

These were the 2 macaroons that I tried, being the Salted Caramel and Blackberry flavour. I find that they tasted average, which has slight crisp on the outside, and chewy on the inside, however lacking the wow factor.

Salted Caramel  & Blackberry Macaroon.
We were also recommended the carrot cake, and we agreed to give it a try. Its in fact a very light cake, fluffy and moist, filled with icing sugar frosting. It carried good taste of cinnamon, filled with sufficient walnut, but, wasn't too much of my liking as I find that there were insufficient use of carrot, as I'd appreciate a cake with richer and denser texture, should it be a carrot cake.
However, I would say that pricing wise, its fairly reasonable.

Carrot Cake. Price-RM8.90
A blissful afternoon with coffee, cake and macaroons
Whisk uses coffee supplied by Oriole, a Singapore based company that supplies them Arabica roasted beans, and was informed that these beans are used within 1 month to ensure its freshness. Instead of just listing their coffee as the usual Latte, Cappuccino, or Flat White, they also highlight all them as Espresso with Milk in the different oz of liquid that makes up to this drink. In this way, customers will know exactly how much concentrated their coffee will be, based on amount of milk that will be added in, to the shot of espresso.

I like the way they list their coffee
I was tempted to try coffee with Nutella, but as this was my first time to Whisk, the staff has asked me to take their non flavored coffee, so that I can enjoy the original flavor of the Arabica beans. I enjoyed taste of my Latte, which was so smooth, and creamy.

Garage 51 @ Bandar Sunway

Having read through a few articles online and blog about Garage 51, it all did managed to raise my curiosity of this place. What attracted me most, wow, a cafe with a garage 'feel' concept. Its such a change from the F&B scene in the past that its opened at the more commercial areas, however, we will now find F&B outlets opened at some of the most unexpected locations.

I really liked the interior of Garage 51, and its very high ceiling.

You won't missed Garage 51 as you pass it

Check out the chair design
Packed lunch crowd
Garage 51 offers very limited menu, with only few selection available for lunch, and separately few others for dinner. Point to note is that their kitchen is closed between 4-6pm. I suppose with the amount of crowd, the selection currently meets the demand by the majority.

Looking at the menu, the Awesome Garage Breakfast attracts my eye. It says diced mushroom, homemade hash potatoes, smoked salmon with free range poached eggs. Well, somehow I wasn't expecting all this items being stacked on top of one another. And I find that the portion is a little too small, and this dish seems to count on the natural taste from its origin, and to conclude, it doesn't taste as good as it looked...
Awesome Garage Breakfast. Price-RM19
The bagel that Joanne is way too hard to be chewed. We know that bagel has a harder texture, however, we really don't find this pleasing to the palatte. She in fact only took the salmon and avacodo, and just couldn't finish off the whole thing.. and well, I don't blame her...

Smoked salmon on bagel with salsa. Price-RM18

Coffee wise, I find that it lacks the richness of coffee, and it surely does feels diluted.

Latte. Price-RM8.90
I do hope that it is only my very personal experience that will not garner this place a second visit. Thank god that taste is a very personal thing which I'm certain others may have a total opposite opinion from me.

Haikara Style Cafe & Bakery @ SS16, Subang Jaya

A year ago, I was recommended to this cafe owned by Japanese which is located within walking distance from Subang Parade, and finally get to try it few months back. Located just below E-Tiara service apartment (if ain't sure of location, look out for Subang Avenue which is just next to it).

This is what to look out for

Lots of green to greet customers

Haikara gave me a warm and cosy feeling as I stepped inside.

A view from inside out

Charcoal Strawberry Roll

Cheesecake

Had their home made mushroom soup. It was ok.

The chef puts high importance in choosing only the purest and best for its raw ingredients, including some homemade tomato paste for pasta... Had the Fisherman Style Tomato Pasta, (the original calls for Spicy, which can be requested for otherwise), which carries a slight sourness in its paste. Overall, decent fulfillment to appetite.

"Fisherman Style" Spicy Tomato Pasta. Price-RM26.90

Another pasta dish that we had was the Seafood Pasta. With enough garlic and herbs used, the pasta was fragrant with the ingredients used.

Seafood Pasta. Price-RM19.90

Frankly, we were looking forward more to the dessert. So we had what caught our eyes earlier..

The Charcoal Strawberry roll was dense, and like the freshness of cream with strawberry.

Charcoal Strawberry Roll. Price-RM6.50

Liked the slight burnt sugar on top of the cheesecake, and it has just the right texture and creaminess to it.

Cheesecake. Price-RM6.50

Boasting roasted coffee from Brazil, Columbia, Tanzania, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Sumatra, Kenya, the meal wouldn't be complete without a cup of coffee.

As I liked the ambiance, I will return for the coffee and pastries, however, not so much the main meal.

Coco @ SS15, Subang Jaya

Bubble tea frenzy continues.. For those that may be keen to know what are the bubble tea brands available in Malaysia, one should go around shoplots near to Inti at SS15, and chances are, you will get to see majority, if not all the bubble tea players in Malaysia.

1 of the latest player in town is non other than Coco, which originated from Dansui, Taiwan. This outlet at SS15 is their 1 and only outlet in Malaysia, at present.

Coco does distinct itself by having a cafe concept with its 1st outlet and I super duper love the ambiance. Extremely cosy seating area, and just the kinda place I like to chill in. Of all the Coco outlets (this is the 837th outlet internationally), this is the 1st with this cafe concept.

From far, one can't missed the cute cartoon face, with 2 big eyes, representing Coco.

Coco logo - CUTE..

Got so excited when I entered "Coco".. Feel like taking picture everywhere. Love the really cute blue mascot.

Selina & I. A picture with the mascot is a MUST.. hehe..

I love the different parts of Coco, that comes with different sets of furniture. Sit at different part of Coco, and you will get a slightly different feel, with its raw wall and wall pasted with artificial grass..

A look inside Coco

Pathway to the rest room.. Cool...

Oh! So am I more excited about the ambiance, than the drink?? Not so the case.... in fact I tried it when I was in Shanghai last year, and I absolutely fell in love with the drink called '3 Brothers'.

And by the time I post this, I've came to Coco (and so I'm blogging from Coco, now....) a total of 4 times.

1st visit - I had the Mango Yakult drink - definitely a drink for the Mango and Yakult lovers. The taste of Yakult flavor is apparent as they use 2 whole bottle of Yakult in the drink.

Mango Yakult. Price-RM6.90

Taken during my 1st visit

2nd visit - I had the 3 Brothers. This drink will surely fills your stomach, as it is Milk Tea that combines Pearl, Grass Jelly and Pudding. Love the pleasure all this 3 gives to my tastebud as Pearl has this chewy taste (I extremely like the texture of Coco's Pearl), aromatic Grass Jelly and the Pudding that is so smooth..

Price- 3 Brothers. Price-RM6.90

Taken during my 2nd visit, with SK

3rd visit - I had the Bubble Gaga. This is the Passion Fruit tea with Pearl and Coconut Jelly. Passion fruit is a taste you either like or dislike. I love the refreshing taste the passion fruits gives, with its sourness.

Taken during my 3rd visit - with "quite" a poser, Mr Tot0 (a name that one will surely remember.. hehe)og

"Now we are friends"

Toto, me and Selina - posing with our own favorite drinks

4th visit - Selina and I shared drinks. We had the Cream Green Tea with Pearl and Fresh Milk with Grass Jelly. Of all the 4 visits, this 2 are my top favorite. The cream that comes on top of the Green Tea separate itself well, and the texture is extremely smooth. With its slightly salty taste made from their own recipe, makes you wanting for more. I also like the idea that they gives you this small plastic knife to cut the cover, so that you can take good sip, starting from the cream, up to the tea. I was also pleasantly surprised with the aromatic Green Tea flavor of this drink.
As for the Fresh Milk with Grass Jelly, yummy too!! The aromatic of the brown sugar used in the Grass Jelly is apparent and its goes so well with the milk.

Fresh Milk with Grass Jelly. Price-RM6.90 and Cream Green Tea Pearl. Price-RM6.90
(RM1 is for the Pearl. They are now having their April promotion, and is only priced at RM3.50)

What else should I try next??? Hmm..
