The Lounge @ GTower Hotel, KL

This good deal got me really attracted! A good deal offered by Dealmates - RM49 instead of RM124.. The deal for 2 pax comes with a 3-tier mini pastries and sandwiches set, 1 slice of cheesecake, and free flow of coffee. Wanting to try this, I've purchased this as a birthday treat for Janis..
Having reached here at 7pm, we only had an hour before they close :(

I liked the overall lounge setting. Spacious, with lots of green. Maybe it's nearing closing time, we were the only customers that evening.

We were immediately served our tea set. And was overwhelmed by the number of delicacies that were presented in front of our eyes.

The 3 tier mini pastries & sandwiches set and coffee waiting to be savored

We had the whole lounge to ourselves... cosy area.

From the overall pastries that we took, we felt it was way too much of the pastries that were made of chocolate. I liked the croissant which was fluffy.. as for the rest, it was alright ONLY.. cheesecake was very light, without much of the minimum that would be expected of a piece of cheesecake, cupcake was too dense and wasn't moist, and overall, definitely won't be something worth paying RM124 for.

The overall selection of pastries we had with this set

Its a wonderful feeling for me to see my friends coping well with their life, and I'd like to wish Janis, a very happy birthday, once again. To many more wonderful years to this beautiful life! :D

Hummingbirds Coffee Bar @ Telawi, Bangsar

Change of tenants for the better, why not? Capitalizing on Beatrice Looi's name, this corner shop lot at Telawi is now occupied by Hummingbirds Coffee Bar, which its popularity in Facebook is apparent.. Best of both world for the owner and partner, this cafe shares space with Beatrice's collection.

Seeing some of my friends liking this place on Facebook, I can't wait to try it out myself..And since Illa and I were around here, suggested to her, to hang out here for the afternoon.

Spot the Hummingbirds Coffee Bar

We immediately liked it when we stepped into this cafe, with such charming setting.

Hummingbirds - favorite of many

There were many varieties of cupcakes, macaroons and cakes displayed on the cake shelf. The friendly staff patiently explained each one of the offering to us.. More choice means more difficult to make a choice.

Should we have this, that, this or that? Aiya, not easy deciding la..

We ordered the pot of Camomille Tea, for sharing. And we both loved the piece of cookie that came with the tea. Yummy! Crunchy! Fragrant! But oops, forgot to ask what it was...

Yummy tasting cookie, that accompanied our Camomille Tea

We chose the Raspberry Macaron, crispy, and with thick filling inside. Like the soury taste from the raspberry.

Red Velvet cupcake came in such bright red.. hmm.. the sweetness was just right for me, however, the texture was way too dense, for my liking. I prefer more airy and fluffy cupcake.

Raspberry Macaron. Price-RM5 each, Red Velvet Cupcake. Price-RM6.50

Red Velvet, bursting with 'redness'?

The chocolate fudge cake with ice-cream, was simply divine. Moist chocolate cake with chocolate sauce, companied with vanilla ice-cream, no combination could be better.. This dessert that came with a price of RM16, ouch!

Illa and I, had an enjoyable afternoon

We didn't realized that we have sat here for hours, yacking away... Thanks to the cosy environment and the staff/owner here who were especially friendly and attentive :D

Ben's General Food Store (BGFS) @ Bangsar Village 1

One of the most talked about F&B outlets, are these chain of restaurants by BIG. I am no different, and am curious to check out this canteen-like open concept restaurant.

Dina and I reached at 1pm+, and its no surprise that the restaurant was packed. We opted to come back later, and upon 'assigned' to a seat in between people, literally - left, right, opposite, behind, we opted for a seat outside.

Ready to order

I like the seating area outside, with more privacy as we don't need to share our tables.. hehe.. Of course, the concept inside, gives a person a different unique experience all together. BGFS definitely gave me a refreshing dining experience...

Me and Dina - a lunch to celebrate birthday of my sweet little buddy friend..

I like that we can order the salad, with 1 choice priced at range of price between RM9.90 - RM12.90 , whilst choice of 2 salad is priced at RM19.90 and 3 choices for RM29.90.

We ordered the Marinated Button Mushroom - a cold salad that combined barley, spring onion, soy and lemon, and Roasted Cod Fish & Pineapple, that combined green chili, cucumber, tomato, coriander and coconut milk dressing. There were generous portion of cod fish, and combined with the sweet and sourish pineapple, it was a nice healthy combination.
As for the other choice, though their salad tasted slightly bland, we surely got the most natural taste of the barley and the marinated button mushroom.

Marinated Button Mushroom and Roasted Cod Fish & Pineapple. Price-RM19.90 (priced at RM12.90 and RM11.90 respectively, for individual order)

I have heard much about how different pizza from BGFS is, and just had to order this. Seafood has always been my favorite, and we ordered the Pescatora Pizza.... The freshness of mussel, squid, fish and shrimp were apparent, and the tomatoes, mozzarella, garlic enhanced the taste further. The little gravy inside the mussel shell surely 'captured' the natural sweetness of the mussel. Nice! The pizza dough definitely deserve praise, as it was thin enough, with soft tender dough.

Align CenterJust love the white raw finishing on the wall

Best use of space inside. Clean and neat space, and just 1/2 hour earlier (during lunch time), it was almost 100% packed.

Seoul Korea @ Taman Danau Desa, KL

Seoul Korea has always been on my list of restaurant to try out, and since we were due to meet for Sam's belated birthday celebration, I took the chance to suggest this place. Dinner is to take place on Sat, and thank god I called earlier to make reservation, as the queue was relatively long (customers were queuing at the staircase, as this restaurant is located at 1st Floor). And I was looking for parking at 7.10pm (my reservation of 7pm will be held for 10mins), and the lady boss already called to check if I was coming, otherwise, they will give up my table for the waiting customers.
Glad that we had a room, and criteria for reservation on weekends is to have min spend of RM150.
Our initial order fall short, and we ordered the extra to make-up to RM150.

We were starving at the time we made our order... and under the full house situation in the restaurant, we didn't need to wait too long for our food to be served.

Doesn't look like so, but this restaurant is full with customers (all seated, with many of them still queuing outside)

To my opinion, Seoul Korea has the best selection of banchan (side dishes), and the tastiest that I've ever tried. Seriously! They even gave pork banchan which was simply delicious, and steamed egg. I also absolutely love the crispy seaweed. Overall, highly satisfied! Can't wait to have this again, and again.

Banchan served by Seoul Korea

The marination by Seoul Korea was absolutely top class, as both the bbq pork and chicken that we ordered was tasty to the max. Tender and juicy. Yumms!

'Dae-Ji Gal-Bi' Pork Spare Rib. Price-RM25

I loved the chicken here, as it still retained its chicken juiciness, even after BBQ. Yumm.. and tasty to the max.

'Dak Bulgogi (Spicy)'. Spicy Chicken BBQ. Price-RM25

The Korea Style steamboat (casserole) looked interesting to us. Though it doesn't look any close to the menu, we liked the sweetness of the soup, and the tender pork which came with its most natural sweetness.

'Bulgogi Jeongol'. Marinated BBQ Steamboat (Casserole)

Have always liked Korean Style Seafood pancake. Thus ordered 1 to try. This pancake was slightly crispy on the outside, while brought us the right thickness throughout, and bite that went along with seafood, nice!

'Hae-Mul Kimchie-Jeon' Korean Style Seafood Kimchi Pancake. Price-RM20

The pork spare rib bbq marinated with traditional korean recipe was alright.. It has a more plain taste, and while chewing the meat, it feels like having finely cut slices of pork. Not exactly something I'd order the next time.

Traditional style marinated BBQ. Price-RM35

Next time I will remember to use the 'flash' function when I passed my camera for others to take pix. This turned out a little blurry.. :(

After paying the bill, we were presented with this complimentary slices of really sweet watermelon, and a bottle of ginger drink.

Complimentary watermelon, which was really sweet, and bottle of ginger drink

Overall, I was highly satisfied with the dinner here, and it had me posting on FB afterwards, that I had the best korean food in town. Can't wait to be back again. With so many choices of Korean restaurants around, its no surprise to me that Seoul Korea is doing exceptionally well... Try it, and you will know it.. and overall, their price of food is truly reasonable. Plus point!
