SkyCab & SkyBridge @ Langkawi

One of the not to be missed attraction in Langkawi ought to be the SkyBridge, but before one can reach the Bridge, they need to take the cable car up, which is addressed as SkyCab (do check their official website here for their differing operating hours). 

SkyCab is known as the steepest cable car ride on earth and takes visitors up 708m above sea level which will lead visitors to Langkawi's second highest peak of Mt. Machinchang. For those who are phobia of height, this cable car ride can be quite a scary one, but if you can put aside the fear, the view on the way up is simply remarkable, where the ride takes one over the beautiful jungle and rock that aged over 550 million years. 

The ride starts from The Base Station, located at the foothill of Machinchang mountain. It will stop at Middle Station where one can alight to their viewing platform. Plenty of photo opportunities here, of the panoramic view of the main island. Upon taking your time here, go back to the same station to board the SkyCab to the Top Station.

Fees : RM45 adult or RM32 for child (non Malaysians), or RM30 adult or RM22 for child (MyKad is required)

 From the Top Station, one will need to purchase ticket to get to the SkyBridge. Fee : RM5 (where you need to walk through the jungle, which takes approximately 10 mins), or RM15 (where you use the SkyGlide).

The Skybridge measures at 125m in length, and it ranks among the world's longest curve suspension bridge. This is surely a highly spectacular bridge, and also, for those fear of height, I have heard stories of jelly legs. Take a deep breath, and admire the panoramic view as much as possible.

Red Tomato @ Pantai Cenang, Langkawi

It has been more than a decade that I last been to Langkawi. I truly enjoyed my recent trip here, and I think Langkawi is one of the places that tourists to Malaysia ought to visit. 

I fully depended on reviews on Trip Advisor for recommendation of F&B outlets. 

Red Tomato is one of the outlets that is top on their list, and best of all, it is located strategically at Pantai Cenang area. 

I love their very inviting entrance, and the restaurant was in fact filled with customers.

We ordered their salad as starter, and do expect long wait for your food. We waited close to 30 minutes, for our first dish, the salad to be served. 

This was filled with lots of greens, tomatoes, avocado, mango, cucumber, cranberries and smoked pepper tuna. There were all so fresh, and the slight salty smoked pepper tuna truly complimented the salad, and with a taste of mango sweetness, this was a yummy salad.

 The Carbonara was cooked to perfection. We requested for chicken to replaced its chicken ham that was originally listed in their menu. The sauce was creamy enough and overall was a tasty plate of pasta.

For its pizza, there is a choice of either the margherita or the basil pesto, which came with the basic ingredients, ie. tomato or basil pesto, with mozzarella cheese. 
As for additional toppings, each item is priced at either RM2 or RM4, which we opted for salami and fresh mushroom. 

We were very pleased with the thin and crispy pizza, and it was certainly delicious.

We left with happy stomach, and yes, this is truly a recommended restaurant.

Bird Park @ Kuala Lumpur

It has been a few years since the last I visited the Bird Park. I took advantage of the Raya holidays to make another visit there. 

The Bird Park indeed is still very well maintained. However, I do noticed less quantity of birds at certain areas. This is one park that will definitely be enjoyed, for family with kids outing.

I like the fact that we can get upclose and personal with some of the breeds within the park, as they are left to roam and fly around (some within restricted caged area).

Enter their Nursery section that explains all about eggs incubation. Its nice to refresh ourselves with the simple facts that we used to learn in school.

Around the Wall's kiosk, we spotted many Milky Stork that build their own nestle on the trees. I witnessed how this Milky Stork attempted to bring some branches, to build a stronger nest.

i.Try to be at the park by the opening time (it's also easier to find parking) and finish your visit before its gets too humid.

Hutan Lipur Lata Iskandar @ Tapah and Cameron Highlands

A last minute impromptu plan led me to Cameron Highlands the next day. The best destination to get away from the usual hot Malaysia weather. Cameron Highlands is basically cool throughout the year, with temperature ranging from 14 degree Celsius to 28 degree Celsius. 

Best time to visit is during the off peak season, as it is normally extremely crowded during the school holidays, weekends and festive holidays. 

Coming from KL, it is about 300kms away. We took the Tapah exit, which led us to a very windy road, reaching Ringlet, the first town of Cameron Highlands. 

If one is following this route, it is recommended to take a short stop at the Hutan Lipur Lata Iskandar. 

Hutan Lipur Lata Iskandar

Lata Iskandar is a beautiful waterfall in central Perak, located between Tapah and Cameron Highlands. The waterfall cascades down from the mountain slope, into a pool where the public can enjoy this nature by soaking themselves within this area, and then cascade down to a stream. 

We were there on Monday 9am+, thus, it was almost empty, a big difference from the last I was there, where it was so crowded. 

Took our own sweet time to enjoy the beautiful nature, and listen to the sound of waterfall, flowing.

Its an insanely serene moment, when you get to see the greens from the forest, observe the flowing water from the waterfall, get to smell the freshest of air and to feel the coolest water. Ya, life should be enjoyed this way.

After getting enough of the waterfall, we walked opposite of the road, where one will find stalls selling hand made items, alongside some other souvenirs.

The waterfall is free for public, however, it is not recommended to be present during dark, and during heavy rain.
