McD Prosperity Burger @ Take-away

McDonalds has always been a brand close to my heart.

Its the time of the year where the Prosperity Beef and Prosperity Chicken are available, for a limited time only.

My stomach was 'hitting-drum' (ta ku translated to Cantonese, which means real hungry) on the afternoon of Christmas eve, thus when I was nearing Centrepoint drive-through, thus, grabbed a Prosperity Chicken for myself and a Prosperity Beef for Babe-Jo.

Prosperity Chicken-waiting to be unwrapped

While I was busy taking photos, babe aka Jo took a few bite of her Beef Prosperity Burger

Lots of black pepper sauce

Another shot of Chicken Prosperity Burger

I suppose different people has different POV on this prosperity burger, either one will love it or hate it. For me, I have not missed eating Prosperity Chicken (I don't take beef) for the each limited time it is sold, since the last few years. I just love the juicy chicken patty dipped in black pepper sauce, topped with onion, tucked in sesame seed bun (sentence copied from McD's site.. keke).
Though I do find the overall black pepper sauce overwhelming, I still liked this.

Babe suggested to add mayo onto the burger.. it actually tasted good, eaten together.

Mayo with Prosperity Chicken

Me, enjoying each bite of my burger

After eating the burger, I was going around babe's home to take photo.
Babe joined me in this picture - reflection of us from her dining table. Hehe.

Restoran Oversea @ Imbi, KL

We took advantage of the fact that we are already in KL to dine at Oversea. The restaurant has quite a good crowd by the time we got there at 6pm, and without reservation, the only table available is by the garden, ie. outside, without air-condition. After much persuasion and highlighting the fact that we are just there to eat, and will leave immediately after, we got the lucky table, no 18.

A friend shared with me that he read in a food review, that Oversea's bbq pork is 1 of the food one must have before they die... Though sounded 'kua cheong', I seem to agree to a certain extend.

Busy chopping the bbq pork

Qi, though was sleepy, managed to pull through dinner, for the love for food.

Qi, patiently waiting for her food to be served

Feel like having soup, and was recommended the black chicken boiled with sea coconut. This was a really 'pou' soup and sweet - for it contained black chicken, pork, white fungus, dried sea coconut, and a kind of snail. Of course we only found out about the snail when we were curiously asking what was that, when we were served. It tasted a little like abalone, but upon hearing snail, and it not being a common item used in soup, we expected to pay high price for this soup.

Black Chicken with Sea Coconut Soup. Price-RM80

The beancurd though being fried till golden yellow on the outside, its inner part was real soft and smooth - feels a bit like having tau foo fa.

Beancurd. Price-RM21

The steamed chicken was fresh, and love the simple soya sauce and the fragrant fried garlic that accompanied the chicken.

Steamed Chicken. Price-RM28

We love how this brinjal was cooked - it has really strong taste - a combination of sambal, 'tau-chiong', chilli and dried prawns.

Brinjal. Price-RM16

The highlight of the dinner must be this plate of bbq pork. It was roasted so well that we took each bite slowly, in order to enjoy every bite of it. The best part of the meat that I love was the slightly burnt and harder part which carried the sweet taste of honey.

Overseas Imbi is located at a hot-spot, thus jockey (RM4) parking is recommended.

Hot & Roll @ Pavillion

Was at Pavillion with my family yesterday. Pavillion's Christmas deco is one of the nicest, and needless to say, most grand of all the shopping malls I've seen, around Klang Valley.

Many beautifully decorated Christmas trees

Since we were not too hungry, we went to MOF ice-cream, for drinks and dessert. I can't seem to suppress my craving for crepes when I passed 'Hot & Roll'. It reminded me of this crepe that I really love-chicken floss with seaweed, that used to operate from Jusco, Bandar Baru.

While waiting to be served at MOF, I went to buy a crepe, and since chicken floss is my favorite, ordered the chicken floss crepe. There are in fact quite a number of customers queuing, waiting for their crepes.

Step 1 : Clean the flat pan, pour in batter

Step 2 : Flatten & even up the batter

Step 3 : Add chicken floss, onion and mayonnaise

Step 4 : Fold them in 3
Ready to be eaten. Chicken Floss Crepe. Price-RM5.90

The steps to make this crepe looked rather simple, for an end-result that tasted simply delicious. Love the smell of the crepes - a little like 'egg-roll' smell. Combined with crispiness on the top part of the crepes, and slightly soft at the inner part of the crepes, the crepes is just the right snack to have, for tea time.

Yuan Yean @ Yong Peng

Fishballs, fishball, fishballs. Something I can never say no to.

My cousin that stays in Yong Peng recommended Yuan Yean to us, which is his favorite, as it serve 1 of the better tasting noodle and fish ball. Thus, headed there for late lunch.

It occupies 2 shop lots, with 1 of the shop lot being air-conditioned

The fishballs here are made from ikan parang/saitoh fish. Just by the sight of the fishballs, I can't wait to have 'em.

"Bouncy" fresh fishballs

My bro-Fei, standing by the stall, while we wait to be seated

It was indeed pleasant to meet up with some of my relatives/cousins, the younger generation. As much as I've grown older, I somehow can't seem to register that they have old grown up as much.
Hehe.

Me & my cousins-the younger generation, all with thumbs up

My adorable nieces. Qi especially love to eat. Almost anything goes.

Yao, Wen, Me & Qi - all thumbs up too.

I ordered the kuey teow soup. I like the clear broth used, and the fishball was really fresh and 'bouncy'.

Fishball Noodle-Soup. Price-Rm4

The dried noodle somehow tasted better, as it has just the right amount of soya and black soya sauce.

Fishball Noodle-Dry. Price-Rm4

Fei felt like having otak-otak, thus we ordered to try. A little disappointed with this, as the texture of this otak-otak was a little too soft, and tasted bland.

Muar Otak-Otak-Prawn. Price-RM8

The one must-try ought to be this saitoh fish cake. Being fried, the thin outer layer of the fish cake carries slight crispiness which makes this even more aromatic. Overall, we could feel the fine-texture and freshness of the fish cake.

Starbucks @ CapSquare (Happy Birthday Starbucks)

Was at CapSquare for a meeting a while ago. This was my 1st visit to CapSquare, and together with Kelly and Justin, we headed to Starbucks for discussion.

Today marks Starbucks 11th Anniversary - and all outlets were giving out free tall black coffee, at 11am (not sure up till what time, or perhaps its while stock last). 11 years in Malaysia!!

I love being in Starbucks, especially during the Christmas season, as there will be little deco items here and there, plus their merchandises sold especially during Christmas.

Taken from The Garden branch. Lovely and cute Christmas bears, dressed up in Santa/Santarian costume

Starbucks coffee need no introduction, as they purchase and roast high quality whole bean coffee and each cup is freshly brewed. For a hang-out place, over a cup of coffee, Starbucks is one of my favorite.

Inside Starbucks

Walk-ins, to enjoy a cup of free coffee today

Was hesitant at first to snap pictures around, as this was my 1st meeting (though casual) with a client. However, I ended up doing so. Guess its best to be myself.. Hehe.

My cup of free coffee. This was taken after my purchased cup of ice tazo lemonade.

Yishenshu @ Bandar Bukit Tinggi

When Fei was back about 2 weeks ago, we had family dinner together, and for a change, decided to head to a newly opened branch of the Yishenshu vegetarian chain (originated from Kampar) at our neighbourhood @ near BBT One at Bukit Tinggi.

At times my mind goes blank having to think of restaurant with nice ambient around my neighbourhood, but I was pleasantly surprised by the cosy and 'upclass' deco of the restaurant.

Me and my sis made the order the other night - got rather excited ordering all types of vegetarian 'meat' dishes. Hehe..

This vegetarian 'duck' that tasted a little like 'char siu' was really good, and to be eaten, wrapped together in the bun.

Teriyaki Vege Duck Bun. Price-RM20

We love the emperor tofu (it was golden yellow inside), topped with vegetarian minced meat. I like the texture which was at the right level of softness.

Emperor Tofu. Price-Rm22

The broccoli fried with mushroom was also a favorite. Gravy to go with rice - yummy.

Broccoli Braised Mushroom. Price-RM22

The sweet and sour 'fish' was THE favorite for all of us. It was fried till real fragrant, and cooked together with the sweet sour sauce, appetizing.

Sweet n Sour Vege Fish. Price-RM28

This was my personal favorite. I love the 'chicken', due to the especially fragrant butter smell, and the 'chicken' was fried till real crispy.

Milky Butter Vege Chicken. Price-Rm22

Another dish that we missed out taking picture is the Special Vege Rendang Mutton, priced at RM22. This was something different for us, as we don't usually take mutton. The sambal used in the rendang was really tasty and fragrant.

We took the opportunity to celebrate early birthday for my sis. A supposedly surprise birthday celebration was 'leaked out' by my niece, Qi, when she asked everyone to sing birthday song before we even took the cake out, and when my sis asked who's birthday, she innocently answered 'mummy lor'.

Hing Ket Grill House @ Kampung Jawa, Klang

Been to Hing Ket many years ago, and being a Klangnite, I owe this restaurant another visit. Organized for a dinner with Aloy, Sam, Sally & Janice few Saturdays ago.

When I arrived, I am just to wait to for the food to arrive. And it was a wise decision to be there by 6.30pm, otherwise, parking will surely be a problem at Hing Ket.

The brussel sprout tasted normal, so was the cantonese fried noodle. The highlight apart from the BBQ lamb was the fried 'tung hoon'. It was really so fragrant, not too wet, not too dry, and combined with white cabbage, pork, prawn and dried prawn, this was simply delicious.

From top left (clockwise) : Brussel Sprout. Price-RM10, Cantonese Fried Kuey teow and Fried Tang Hoon.Price-RM16

I ain't too much a lamb eater, but I did tried this. The meat was tender and well marinated, and most important of all, does not have the too strong smell of lamb. All of them loved this.

BBQ Lamb-4 pcs. Price-RM34

I love mantis shrimp, but the flour coating to this may be a little thick, or was it the mantis shrimp that is too lean, that I don't taste enough of it.

Mantis Shrimp. Price-RM12

The BBQ crab was really fresh that we could taste the sweetness of it.

BBQ Crab. Price-RM48. Naughty us to placed 1 crab on top of the other. Hehe.

We later ordered the yam noodle, as it sounded interesting. It tasted a little like 'pak kor', and has mild taste of yam.

Yam Noodle. Price-RM7

Man at the kitchen, busy 'barbequ-ing'

After dinner, we adjourned to Aloy and Sam's home for coffee and chocolate fondue.

Coffee bought back from Paris. Surely it tasted good.

Since each cup of coffee has to be prepared one by one, we had much time to hang around, to pose around taking pictures. When all cups of coffee were ready, we can't wait to taste the coffee. We took a bite of marshmallow/strawberry dipped in chocolate, and the next, a sip of coffee. Pure enjoyment.. And it was certainly a great way to end the night.

Ber-posing posing- with coffee, strawberry, cake and the chocolate fondue. Sally baked us a cake too.

Aloy, at the background, wouldn't want to miss a chance to be in the photo. Hehe..
