Haagan Dazs @ 1Utama

It was certainly love at first bite when I had my first scoop of Haagan Dazs 15 years ago. And now 15 years later, Haagan Dazs is celebrating their 15th Anniversary. To mark this special anniversary, they introduce a limited time flavor - Cappuccino Truffle. And along with this, they have also introduced 7 sinfully tempting creations.

It was a pleasure for me and my mom to be invited by Pat-Lin Communications and and Haagen-Dazs, in conjunction with Mother's Day celebration, to try out this newly launched flavor. Without doubt, chocalate based flavors are the most loved flavor by many.

As this invite included a few other bloggers, 4 creations out of the 7 tantalizing creations were ordered, and of course, all looked super duper yummy. Wish I had the stomach to have them all.

Kampong Boy ordered the Tuscan Romance, which comes with Cappuccino Truffle ice-cream and raspberry sorbet, and accompanied by muffin, strawberry and cream. Photo taking session took place before this sinfully looking ice-cream goes into her mouth.

One of the guest had the Venetian Interlude, which comes with strong combination of chocolate - a descadent brownie served with Cookies & Cream and Cappuccino Truffle ice-cream. Also looked sinful, yet worth to be sinful.

My Ling, replaced my supposedly company, my mom andshe had the Banana Reverie. This is rendition of timeliness classics with scoops of Belgian Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry ice-cream accompanied by bananas, strawberries and chocolate tulips. With the silence while indulging the Banana Reverie, this must have tasted so good that 100% concentration was given, to taste every bite of it.

As for my pick of the day, it was the Cassata Tiramisu. Tempted to try the tiramisu flavor, this was indeed the right choice. The tiramisu ice-cream cake served with scoops of Cappuccino Truffle and Vanilla ice-cream, accompanied by luscious black cherries - YUMMY.... The Cappuccino Truffle has to be tried as each bite has real strong taste of cappuccino and the rich creaminess of the ice-cream will set you wanting for more.

Before I left, I ought to complete my indulgence for the day with 1 scoop of my ever favorite- the Macadamia Nut flavor.

Macadamia Nut flavor. My ever favorite flavor

While having the macadamia nut flavor ice-cream, an idea which ended as a failed attempt kicked in. ^-^ In case they are looking for local talent, thought I could cast for it.

Trying to imitate the pose, with eyes open. Fail

Another attempt to imitate. Since I closed my eyes, I couldn't do the comparison ;-). Anyway, its still a Fail attempt ^-^

Others reach for the stars, while I rather be reaching for Haagan Dazs

Hakka Rang Restaurant @ Kota Damansara

During dinner time somewhere beginning June, 3 other friends and I were driving around the rows of restaurants at Kota Damansara. At times there seems so much choices that you won't know what to pick.

Alas, spotted this restaurant with quite a good crowd, just few shoplots away from Ipoh Yong Tau Foo. Decided to try it out, and turn out that this is indeed a spot-on discovery.

Being a Hakka myself, can't wait to try how this Hakka dishes would suit my tastebud.

We were recommended this few delicious dishes by the staff.

The crispy pork with fermented bean curd was really crispy, and aromatic.

The salted chicken was also a good choice, as the chicken was really tender and tasted just nice. Not too salty.

The stir fried bittergourd fried with salted dish is one that I will usually order when come to ordering dishes. Though the aromatic of the salted egg yolk doesn't come out too strong, with the bittergroud sliced slightly longish, this style of cooking which is a little wet turn out to be not too bad afterall.

This was quite an interesting soup to try out, called the Drunken egg. Its beaten egg, fried, and cooked together with chinese wine. For someone that like chinese wine in almost any dish, I must say that this tasted really good.

My absolute favorite is the stuffed brinjal. I usually can't resist but to order each time I see stuffed brinjal in menu of any restaurants I go to. With a large portion of fish paste that goes with each cut of brinjal, I just love this.

With a long list of interesting dishes on its menu, can't wait to come by again to try out the other dishes. (Thanks EL for dinner).

Restoran Mui Hiong @ Jalan Imbi

Passed by Imbi umpteen times, but somehow never thought of trying Mui Hiong. Also, not heard any of my friends recommending this restaurant. Janis shared with me that she saw Mui Hiong was featured in Ho Chak, and for our long overdue meet up, we decided to head to Mui Hiong last Thu.

Mui Hiong, from the outside

The lady boss claimed that they don't have menu, and she shall recommend us. We picked the bowl of salted pork rib boiled with white raddish, and this is an extremely good choice. Once the bowl of soup was placed on our table, could smell the aroma of the soup. It must have been boiled long enough, and the taste of this is indeed perfect. Really sweet. However, this quality broth of soup comes with a matching price - at RM28 a bowl, enough for total of approximately 4-5 small bowls

The steamed minced pork with dried cuttlefish is a popular dish as all 3 tables that were filled the other night ordered this. This dish is really good - reminded me of home cooked food.

Another really tasty dish is the bittergourd with salted egg yolk, and prawns (2 big prawns). Can taste the aromatic egg yolk in almost each bite of the bittergourd and prawn. Simply delicious.

The other dish we ordered was the stir fried lala with chilli padi. The lala was really fresh, and each one of this lala comes with pretty fleshy lala. This is being charged by gramme - at RM3.50 per 100g.

Me and Janis

Overall, the quality of food was really first class. However, we felt that the total bill which came up to RM83.60 was a little expensive for the rather small portion of the dishes. Will not be frequenting Mui Hiong, but will definitely come back when I feel like really good quality food.
