During lunch last Sat at Bon Bon, Ivy told me that she often has craving for this rojak, operating by the little street, next to Atria. Oh, so I must try this, after lunch..
This Rojak Atria operates from just bike, which customers can opt to eat at the food court area. You can find Mr Rojak on the little street facing 'Language School'. Since it was Sat, there wasn't that many people then.
For the regular take-away, the boss will have the ready packed rojak by the side, ready to go.
Rojak, ie. fruit salad drowned in prawn-based dressing with chili sauce are found at many places, but to find really good ones, it isn't that easy.
This plate of rojak has all that I like - they are all so fresh, as the rojak man slice in the fruits using his knife only at time of packing - young papaya, mango, pineapple, cucumber, turnip. With order of the big portion at Rm4.80, the amount of fruits is really a lot.. and came with 2 pcs of crackers.. I didn't know earlier, and asked for additional 1 pc which cost only RM0.30.. Light and crispy, yumms, and the price, worth it.. (Pack of small rojak - RM3.80)
Overall, the sauce is not too heavy and just the right thickness to coat all the fruits.. I will definitely drop by to take-away a pack of rojak if I'm around the neighborhood.

Restoran Yin Her @ Sungai Buloh
With my aunty and uncle from Perth for a short trip, it gave more reason for me to meet up with my other relatives. Each time when meet up, the most popular question heard, will be 'where shall we eat this for lunch/dinner?'... Last Tue, Aunty from PJ suggested to have dinner at Sungai Buloh. This is 1 area that I am least familiar with.
When we reached the restaurant, we headed to the non air-cond area, facing the pond . Though without air-cond, it was a chilly night, as it was just after rain, and with slight wind breeze, what a nice weather...
After taking a look around, one thing prominent was the lush greenery - lots of plant...
Just next to the restaurant, there is a lake for fishing, with charge of RM20 per 3 hours.
Our plates of food were served relatively fast, and I was told that this restaurant is really packed on weekends. No luck for crab the other night, as they have not been getting their regular stock.
As we looked at the plates of food placed on the table, we knew we are to savor good tasting food - Bon Appetite..
This was the braised yee mee and hokkien mee hoon noodle we had. The hokkien mee hoon was a little too wet. However, it doesn't lack the taste a good plate of noodle should have. The yee mee, just the right taste I'd like in a plate of noodle. Braised till just soft enough, and not soggy. Overall, these 2 plates has generous amount of ingredients - like vege, squid and pork.
The salted mantis shrimp has this really wonderful aroma - the crunchy bites of this will set you wanting for more. Uncle said, this is best taken with beer. Makes a wonderful snack food too.
The steam lala was one of the favorite for all of us... This thin shelled lala, gave a nice chewy texture, and the soup which has a strong taste of chinese wine, and was cooked using wolfberries, ginger, and just enough chilli padi - its important that chilli padi doesn't overkill the whole taste. Nice!!
We were then served complimentary dessert, a bowl each - the barley fu chok, with sago. Lovely way to end our dessert. Was told by cousin, that if we were to order rice and dishes, the owner will serve complimentary soup. I supposed every customer welcomes free stuff, yea?
I had a wonderful dinner, catching up with my aunties and uncles. The dinner was 'spiced' up by my entertaining 'Aunty Mei Kei'.. :)

The winner has to be this plate of fried tanghoon. This was cooked to close perfection, not too dry, tasty overall, with lots of beansprout, prawn, cuttlefish, pork and not forgetting the dried prawn that was found in every other mouth of tanghoon I had.

McD @ Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang
When sis told me she had breakfast at McD a week earlier, where by purchase of 2 cups of coffee, she received 2 sets of Big Breakfast free. I had to ask her to repeat her statement, as I find this deal to good to be true.
So I was really happy to find this McD's breakfast ad, with a cut-off coupon attached.
Our attempt to have breakfast on a Sunday, to both McD outlets - failed, as both places were totally swamped with people... So, we postpone to claim the offer on Monday instead.
Though there was still queue, however, this is just a fraction of Sunday's crowd. The staff practically worked non-stop, in their attempt to serve the customers promptly. Well, there is surely a good reason to this fabulous deal - its a celebration in winning the Gold Putra Brand Award for 2 years in a row.
My cut-out coupon states 22 Mar as the last day of redemption, but the below coupon can still be printed out, and valid till 31 Mar for redemption.
Even after this promo period, McD's breakfast is still very affordable...
A change from my usual breakfast choices, I will head to McD for breakfast, occasionally, as McD does offer good value, filling breakfast meals.. :)

Oldies & Goodies @ Brinchang Point, Cameron Highlands
From my last year trip to Cameron, I thought this is truly a restaurant worth visiting. Our initial plan was to have steamboat at this highly popular steamboat restaurant (through some self-advertising that I saw) via internet. However, we came across a local, and was told, the food at that restaurant was over-rated, and instead, we were recommended to go 'Oldies & Goodies'...
Immortality soup - Oh, I wish I could live forever after drinking this.
Yes, so we did try the steamboat with the immorality soup. The portion look a lot for 3 pax, and of course, its because this big plate was filled up with lotsa of vege at the bottom (you find find very generous portion of vege in steamboats in Cameron, due to their many fresh vege available here). This plate is a combination of frozen 'goodies', and fresh stuff like prawns.
I can't remember fully now, but I remember there were pumpkin and lots of others ingredients used in the soup base.
The other specialty is the pumpkin that were fried, and then coated with this really tasty, with slight sweetish taste. It gives just the right feeling as you bite it, as this was crispy on the sides, while the pumpkin remained soft and tasty on the inside. However, it was a little salty when we tasted it. Trust this would go well with white rice.
This plate of fried noodle was fried so well, and we just love the sauce used in this.
This definitely will be the restaurant that I will visit again, and recommend to friends heading to Cameron Highlands.

Steamboat, all cooked.. Can't wait to dig in.
Well, overall, I think one can skip their steamboat (unless one would really like to have hot soups from steamboat, in the cold weather of Cameron Highlands).
I find the dishes we ordered tasted excellent, and within very reasonable price.
Just look at how appetizing this plate of fried rice. Using lots of vege, mushroom, prawns, crabsticks, this plate of rice was filled with lots of gravy and came really hot, and just so yummy.

Pantai Seafood @ Kayu Ara, PJ
A text that reads "dinner for Steven's farewell on xxxx "... Even not knowing fully why a farewell is taking place, I agreed to it (any reason to have dinner with my closer friends..hehe).
Suggested Pantai Seafood for dinner this round, as I had the urge to eat here (after passing there during my lunch at Lala Chong few weeks earlier)..
I used to frequent this place, and I meant, really frequent, when I was working with 1 of my ex-employer. So, I do miss the food here, somehow. To be frank, over the many many times previously, all were good dining experience. The food has never failed to "deliver".. :)
This was the 1st place that I tried fried kailan... I thought this is an interesting vege to order, for the 1st timers here. The leafy part of the kailan was fried till so crispy, that you simply have no idea it is actually kailan. In fact, it tasted a little like seaweed. Just love the 'oh-so green' plate of vege.
The pork rib with marmite sauce was absolute delicious too. Tender tasting pork rib, with thick sauce that coats all around the not too fatty pork.
The fried tanghoon has the right 'wok hei', and tasty throughout.
Since this dinner was 'for' Steven, we ought to respect the one dish he requested for. Steam fish! Okie. Dokie.. We ordered the talapia, teo chew style, steam. The fish was fresh, and we just liked this teo chew style that blends the sourish taste and natural sweetness taste. And not forgetting the salted vege and tofu.
Yes, I have been craving for crabs for the past 2 weeks plus. With a little coaxing, they agreed to order crabs. Yay... Had the salted egg crab. I think anything that's cooked with salted egg somehow will just taste good. The thick yolk stuck to all parts of the crab allowed us to have the salty taste that combines just so well, with the fresh crab flesh.
We had a nice dinner catching up, and all the best to Steven, on his new venture (it would have been better, if I had not fell sick, right away, while driving home)... On a positive note, at least I had a really yummy dinner, before losing all my appetite for the next few days.. :)
