Lala Chong @ Kayu Ara, Damansara

Been a fan of Lala Chong, located near the old Subang terminal. From the last I was there, there was a notice that it was to be relocated to Kayu Ara.. And good/bad news to Pantai Seafood as it is now faced with close competition just next door.

First timer here will describe the route getting here as kinda 'ulu', as its located at the furthest end, after passing many car workshops and village-like residential area.

There were quite a number of dishes that are my favorite at Lala Chong, and ordered the similar dishes, except for the 'taufoo kang', which I ordered for the 1st time. I first tried this at Tanjung Sepat, and I immediately liked it since then... This dish that combines beancurd, minced chicken, egg, and some crab meat, tasted a little like sharksfin soup, especially when taken together with vinegar. It has the thick and sticky texture, result of starch used. Overall nice, I liked this...

We ordered the stir fried brussel sprout with garlic. Not too oily and fresh vege.

The must order at Lala Chong ought to be its yong chow fried rice. One of the tastiest fried rice I've tasted. Below picture shown is portion for 3 person, and wow, this is big. I liked the rice which was separated well, combined with lots of spring onion used, chunks of chicken breast, prawns and egg.

The lala was steamed using chinese wine, and ginger gave the fresh clams a clear and natural sweetness taste.

The fried glass noodle is also a must order for Lala Chong. It has a real aromatic flavor that came from the ingredients used, combining the dried prawns, mushroom, chicken, beansprout and egg. Also the glass noodle was fried so well, that it tasted so perfect - not too dry, nor too wet.

The salted bake tilapia may disguise on how good it tasted by how it turned out looking. The fish skin was wrapped with salt to bake, and upon which, it hardens, and is to be peeled off, before one endeavour in its fresh flesh. Its freshness gave it the 'solid' texture. Not forgeting to mention is its appetizing concoction of sauce.

It was nice catching up with my 2 dear ex-colleagues, Suan and Candice, together with Steven, the super-hardworking staff I know from The Sxxx.
