Damansara Village Steamboat @ Damansara

Kent recommended me this place upon having dinner here, saying it serve good food, and they ordered all the expensive stuff, but paid a rather reasonable price for it.

An MSN chat with YK, led me and some of my ex-college mate to dinner at Damansara Village. Before that, checked out their
blog , and wow, they really have lots of varieties food served here. Seems like Patrick Teoh is the man behind this restaurant.

It was raining the other night- what an appropriate night for steamboat.

Airy restaurant

We ordered the steamboat set, priced at RM119, and opted for the herbal soup as the base, at a charge of RM12. The set came with lots of fishball, clams, mussels, abalone slice, fresh tiger prawns, crabs and slices of fresh fish. I would say the set is reasonably priced, in return to what came in the set. Overall, the herbal soup really tasted pure, with thick herbal aroma.

Part of steamboat set, and additional order of beef slice, fried wantan, wrapped chicken, and fish cake

The seafood below was extremely fresh - especially the prawn. We didn't know it was actually still alive when served on plate, and while waiting for the pot of steamboat to boil, few prawns 'jumped' out from the plate, and had us the girls screaming - freshness proven.

Extremely fresh seafood

The soup broth was sweet, and after few rounds of adding in the ingredients, the soup got even sweeter.

Overall, we were satisfied with the steamboat - and steamboat is only 1 of the specialty served here, and there are a lot of other dishes available for ordering. The side order - fish cake was only so so, as the fishcake skin became soggy when served.

The 5 of us - ex PJ Stamford students - and Chris, being the last to arrive the other night, after attending to problematic TM matters, generously picked up the bill. Arigato Chris..

Its so good to catch up, after so long... and somehow, felt we still look the same.. Well, A-L-M-O-S-T'..hehe.
