Dae Sa Kwan @ Sri Hartamas

Prior to our trip to Siem Reap, arranged for a meet up between the 4 of us that were going. Narrowed our choice to Korean food, and my No 1 choice for Korean is Dae Sa Kwan at Sri Hartamas, thus suggested to have lunch there.

The banchan served here is really one of the best, in terms of taste and the wide selection, compared to what's served by other Korean restaurants around town. This is one of the best part of Korean food - unlimited free serving of banchan.

Up to 13 variety of banchan served

A little reading and discussion on Siem Reap before the actual trip

The BBQ pork tasted just alright.

The BBQ chicken was a little more interesting. It came in a hot bowl and with lots of gravy. The ala kim chi sauce was a little spicy, to me.

From the few times I've had the seafood pancake here, the seafood pancake tasted extraordinarily good that day. It has generous portion of seafood within the pancake, and we can even taste the freshness of the seafood used.

I have always love ginseng chicken soup. This soup also known as 'samgyetang' is boiled using whole young chicken, which is stuffed with glutinous rice, and boiled in a broth of Korean ginseng, dried seeded jujube fruits, garlic and ginger. Yum yum.

We also ordered a bowl of kimchi stew - it was bubbling hot when served. For kimchew lovers, this will be an ideal choice. Cooked together with beancurd, golden mushroom and slices of pork.

Overall, it was a fantastic Korean lunch. After the lunch, we can't wait to visit Angkor Wat together, in just the next few days. Yipee!!
