S'mores @ The Sphere 1, Bangsar South, KL

Met up for Chloe's farewell, as she is leaving to Shanghai soon. This was my first time to Bangsar South area, and was recommended to have lunch at S'mores by Chloe and Pacino whom work around this area.

After placing order, I was like 'hai em hai ka' (for real or not?), as their set meals come in such a reasonable price..

Each set comes with choice of drink (lychee, tea or orange juice), followed by soup, main meal accompanied by 2 side dishes (2 side dishes doesn't apply to pasta order), followed by ice-cream as dessert. Whaaaatttt a deeeeeal! I was also pleasantly surprised that the portion of the main meal was in fact, biggg...

For the drink, I liked my lychee drink.

Here's the starter for 4 of us - mushroom soup

Quickly took a shot of us for remembrance, and if its not apparent, I gotta say we were 4 souls in highly good mood, thus the great conversation. We were so relaxed, and it did not felt like, we have spent a good 3 hours, just like that..

From L : Chloe, whom is leaving to Shanghai soon; Pacino, the pro photographer; followed by me & Shereen, my BFF, the expert in mind & soul

Every of the meals ordered tasted excellent. Bet no one regretted their choice. :)

Shereen took the chicken pesto cream pasta. I tried hers... I was immediately hit with a 'wow' feeling.. or maybe a double 'wow... This creamy sauce, despite it is cream based, doesn't give the overwhelming creaminess, and the chicken was well grilled, that it brought so much flavor to the taste bud. Thumbs up for this.

Chicken Pesto Cream. Price-RM12.90+ (lunch), RM15.90 (dinner)

Chloe took the aglio olio with tuna. The tuna surely brought the right combination to the pasta. Also nice.

Aglio Olio with Tuna. Price-RM10.90+ (lunch), RM13.90 (dinner)

Pacino recommended this as a must have to me, as a 1st timer. The Australian white tuna fish was grilled to perfection. I liked the dense texture of this fish, giving me a real solid feeling. Not sure if there is such a way to describe fish. The 2 side order - corn cob was ok, however, i really liked the mash pumpkin. Healthy tasting yet yummy.

Australian White Tuna. Price-RM14.90+ (lunch), RM18.90+ (dinner)

Pacino had the Swiss Chicken Corden Bleu. I forgot to ask a bite on this, however, it really did look irresistible, when it was cut open, showing what awaits, inside this piece of chicken.

Swiss Chicken Cordon Bleu. Price-RM13.50+ (lunch), RM18.50+ (dinner)

Printed frames of picture, all over the wall.

Bar counter within the restaurant, with circles used as the main deco

Back side of the restaurant.. Sufficient seating area

S'Mores, the place to be, for good food, good price

I will very very soon be visiting S'mores for the 2nd time...

One Six Eight Pan Mee Restaurant @ Desa Aman Puri, Kepong

After shopping at SSF with empty stomach, we were 'desperate' to fill our stomach by the time we finish at 4.30pm+. Oh, Kepong is one of the area that I am so unfamiliar with. However I remember this area nearby where I went for Fei Fei Crab, quite some time ago..

Reached without any problem, and after rounding 2 rounds, spotted this pan mee shop that seemed favorable looking to us - having enough customers, at this hour of time.. (5 mins to 5pm).

When we walked in, I asked sis, why so messy, with lots of tissues on the floor. Then we realized, that was because it was their closing hour, and staffs were busy cleaning up to close for the day. We were just in time to make the 2nd last order.

They only had 3 choices - pan mee soup, pan mee dry and another more superior bowl of pan mee for sharing.

We opted for the soup and dry pan mee.

While I was eating my soup pan mee, sis immediately nodded when she took one spoon of the dry noodle. Asked her if the nodding was for the taste of the noodle, and she said, yes yes... Uh.. that got me excited to take a bite..

First I gotta try mine..

The soup, sweetness from the broth was apparent, and the soup isn't the clear clear type, as it was filled with minced pork, shallot, spinach, and mushroom.. And the pan mee texture was soooo good. It was really smooth. I liked it as it is.

Soup Pan Mee. Price-RM5

The dry pan mee version was even better.. if I said this was the best dried pan mee noodle I had, I am not exaggerating. The pan mee smoothness surely deserved a thumbs up, but it was the special thick sauce, which was so tasty that made a whole lot of difference. Wonder what is the secret recipe, but surely yummy to the max.

Dry Pan Mee. Price-RM5

Simple set up of the restaurant

Shop was closed, by 5pm...

I will definitely come back again if I am at this area. The best of all, we don't feel thirsty after this meal, which we are not sure if no MSG or minimal of it was used.

Seoul Korea @ Taman Danau Desa, KL

After hearing how much Yee Miin love Korean food, I decided to bring her to my No 1 favorite Korean restaurant, before she heads back to Christchurch.

When we arrived at 6pm, Seoul Korea just reopened for dinner. We were the 1st customers in, and before long, they were totally packed.. What a good business on a Thursday night.

Absolute charmer, Ellie

I was salivating as the banchan were placed on our table. My absolute favorite ought to be the cuts of seaweed... so tasty.

Yummylicious Banchan

As Maegan and Ellie can't take spicy food, we ordered the BBQ chicken and Seafood. Thought it was a generous portion of BBQ chicken at a price of only RM25. I think we can now hardly find any other Korean restaurant serving BBQ chicken at a price this low.

We simply love the well marinated chicken. Tasty was all I have to described this.

BBQ Chicken. Price-RM25

I don't usually enjoy kimchi soup, but I thought this would be a must try for Korean food lovers. After taking a sip each, Yee Miin and I were continuously complimenting this hot pot of kimchi soup. This was just perfect... Not overly spicy, has just the right level of 'kimchi-ness', and we absolutely loved this.. ~ double thumbs up ~

Kimchi Soup. Price-RM16

The seafood was also good. They were soaking wet with marination, and after being barbecued, it doesn't overkill the freshness of the prawns and squid.

Seafood - Prawn & Squid. Price-RM25

Half way cooked...

A satisfying Korean meal.. Can't wait to see Yee Miin & her kids, again.. Hope won't need to wait another 4 years for that.

Fat Spoon @ Uptown, Damansara Utama

Uptown is an office area that is never short of F&B outlets. After discovering Fat Spoon, waited for the right Sunday to come for lunch (parking will be too much a hassle during weekday).

Just loved the homely atmosphere within, and the ID that gives such a raw feel to it. Also interesting to see the kitchen utensils, pot, tiffin etc, hunged at one corner of the cafe.

A nice Sunday afternoon spent at Fat Spoon Cafe : nice place, good food!

The counter area, and drink making area

Menu, posted within this old ladybird storybook. Good recycling effort, and presented in a rather unique way

As it was Shereen and my first time here, we naturally will look out for its specialty. And Fat Spoon being known to offer grandma's recipe, we wanted to look for something that could gives us such originality in taste. We both thought the owners was rather 'original' in presenting their menu, and after flipping through (trying not to be distracted by pictures in the story book), we decided on Perut Ikan Meehoon.

It came with lots of mix of vege, asam keping, some fish, in this overall thick broth and 'crowded' looking plate of noodle. We really liked this, as it brought a tangy and spicy Nyonya taste to our taste senses.. Meehoon soaked all the 'goodness' within, and every bit was to its satisfaction.

Perut Ikan Meehoon. Price-RM8.90

We also shared the Ulam Fried Rice which was no less satisfactory. The wok-fried rice with sambal and aromatic herbs was tasty, and loved the fried chicken.

Ulam Fried Rice. Price-RM11.90

Me & Shereen

Lychee sorbet with mint - a refreshing drink, to cool and good end to a relaxed Sunday afternoon

Interesting washing and toilet area, with pages from old comics pasted everywhere

During our visit which was a month plus ago, they were busy taking shots to put together a video for their 1st anniversary. Happy 1st Anniversary, Fat Spoon! May you have many more wonderful years serving us good food..
