My last visit to Pu Yuan was 5 years ago, and my sis suggested coming here for dinner, on the way home from Bukit Tinggi. If one is coming from KL to Old Klang road, look out Choong Wen Chinese School just before the post office. Turn in there, and one should spot the restaurant on the left hand side of the 1st alley.
One may mistaken by the outlook of Pu Yan, as it isn't really visible as a restaurant, for its door is shut all the time. Open up and one will find a typical old Chinese restaurant.
We ordered the sweet potato noodle. Its tasty, and fried with lotsa of cabbage, and pork slices. Not many other restaurant serve this, and despite it having a slight slimy feeling, and feels a little like black fungus , this tasted good.
The other noodle that Pu Yuan is famous for is the fried rice stick. Not many place cook the rice stick well. If not soaked long enough, this will in fact turn out to be 'hard' tasting noodle. The rice stick has an elasticity feel, and was smooth. It was fried with lots of cabbage and pork slices, and topped with fried shallot and spring opinion.
We also had the stew pork, and it was really tender. They also provided a type of 'rice cake' to dipped with the sauce.
The chicken breast meat coated with oat, was fried till real crispy, and has a nice aroma that came with it.
