Janis first shared about Sanuki Udon with me, when she read it from A Whiff Of Lemongrass's blog.
After few attempts to have dinner at Sanuki Udon, I ended up there with Shereen 1 of the weekend.
I like the simplicity of the restaurant - everything seems to be kept to the basics, and the just a few choices of items available on the menu (somehow got the feeling that only those that are really good will sell very limited items).
We first ordered the Edamame as starter.
After looking at the food shot, we can't resist the 'House Special with Egg'. It's amazing how the chef could make this absolutely springy 'kiu-kiu' tasting udon noodle. Its real fresh, and love feeling every chew of the udon in my mouth. This dish was kept to the most basic - only egg to accompany the udon, in order for us to taste the originality of both the udon, and the egg. Yummy.
As we ordered the cold version of the house special udon, we next opted for a hot bowl of Seaweed Udon noodle. Clear broth soup, with the udon. Simple yet healthy tasting.
We also ordered side dishes - Karaage, fried chicken. Right bite size chicken, and well marinated.
Overall, a simple meal, good tasting, value for money dinner.
In March, Sanuki Udon will have another branch operating from Wisma Cosway, KL.
